Hi, friends! This week I thought it might be good to do a check-in for New Year’s resolutions, or maybe just some of your personal goals. How are you doing? Last week sometime was the “official ditch your resolution” day; did we make it through? Here is an update about my goals.
Be consistent. I think I can do better with this one, but I am already leaps and bounds better than I was last year.
Get to under 200#. I have no idea. It’s day eight of Whole30, so I haven’t weighed myself, but I feel better and more comfortable so I’d call it a success so far.
Journal every day. I’ve knocked this one out of the park. I make 15 minutes for myself to journal every night before bed. I think it’s helping me sleep better to clear my head before it hits the pillow and I definitely have less anxiety than I have in a long time.
Learn how to do a smoky eye. I haven’t started this one yet.
Be more vulnerable. This one is also coming along nicely. I’ve done several things so far this month that are out of my comfort zone. After my initial freak out and panic, I settle down and have really enjoyed it. One of these things is learning how to knit a pair of socks. Holy fine motor skills. It’s taking me a while and I’ve started over several times, but spending time on that sure does beat spending forever doing nothing on social media for hours a day.
Also, since we’re in and comfortable with the nutrition challenge, I thought I would share some of my favorite recipes and sources for them. I always find the middle of these 30 days to be the hardest; I’m tired of what I have in the fridge, but don’t want to take the time to make something new. Hopefully these are helpful for you and you can file them away for when you need them, if you do. They are all Whole30 centered, but the can definitely apply to my RP friends too.
