And now...Week 27!
You know, it’s been a while since I’ve had fun with pictures. This week’s blog is brought to you by some fun, living my happiest life times that I have had over the past two weeks in the form of pictures.
If you’re my Facebook friend (and by now, why wouldn’t you be?), you know that I ran my first 5K two Sunday’s ago. It was a last minute decision inspired by a very important just turned 8yearold that means a lot to me. I woke up way too early for a Sunday (which also seems to be a new trend for me... *yawn*) and met Sophie and her mom downtown for the race. We had intended on walking it, but it ended up to be more of a jog, with some serious push at the end thanks to Sophie’s inspiration. We finished in 40 minutes! I’m not sure what to have expected for my first 5K as someone who hates running, but I think that’s pretty good... right? Here are Sophie and I at the end, just before she got chocolate fondue al over herself, but not before I had spilled hot chocolate all over myself.
After the race, I felt so awesome, and like all the physical activity needed to happen. So I took the dogs for a walk with Beth (our other nonCrossFitting roomie), retested my retest of Nancy, and I think we played Frisbee in the park.
It was a crazy day! Beth and I like to have #whitegirlsunday, which basically means we go get a Starbucks and do simple things. Here are a few pictures from the past two #whitegirlsundays, including our Wash Park selfie with the dogs, Starbucks on a scenic bridge in Bailey, and us enjoying ourselves at a wine tasting that I enjoyed way more than I thought I would, considering it happened only a few hours after we had completed celebrations for Andrew’s birthday.
I have been really enjoying spoiling myself with new, much smaller clothing over the past few weeks. I’m finally at a point in my journey where I can consistently buy clothes at a much smaller size than I used to be and feel totally comfortable in them. When I’m not buying new clothes, Carla is passing down her clothes to me, and I am proud to say that I have finally gotten into Carla’s pants! I have been waiting so long to make that joke. So. Long. You know, because it’s literally about fitting just my own body into her old pants? Hilarious. Anywho, while the number on the scale may not say so, I can feel and really see the difference that all this hard work has done. And even so, the number on the scale says I have officially lost 40 pounds. Whoa. Here is an awesome sweatshirt I bought in the Junior’s section of Kohl’s with some Kohl’s Cash and a 20% off coupon.
Precious Baby posted an Instagram picture last week looking generally displeased with all the pumpkin things in the world right now, and I couldn’t agree more. Carla posted an article on PB’s FB wall a few days ago with the hashtag
The rest of my time over the past two weeks has been spent getting some face time with most of my favorite people from DeCO outside of DeCO, having too much fun dressing up at work, and watching a marching band competition in the freezing cold with my dad.
I have also celebrated Crocktober accordingly with this recipe
, as well as
, and had my first adventure with paleo baking with
! All of which were a success, and I highly recommend that you make any and all of these recipes.
I think I’m starting to get back on track with living my happiest life. What’s different about it this time is that I am living my happiest life for me and not for anyone else. I’m pretty stoked about it.
