Join Tillifinney as we follow her fitness journey over six months, starting on April 16th, 2014. The highs, the lows, the goals, the PRs...she shares it all!

And now...Week 12!

A haiku for you, by me, summing up the week after my two month post.

Went to DeCO once.

I hurt my back moving. Boo.

Getting back slowly.

Yep, it’s true. This girl has a herniated disk in her lower back that flares up about once a year. Moving definitely caused a flare up. Saturday and Sunday were awful, but I’m feeling better. I did the WOD on Monday instead of Run Club, and missed the Tuesday benchmark because all the lifting made me scared. Hopefully by Sunday I will feel awesome enough to do it at Open Gym. Ain’t nobody got time for this back pain bulllllllllllsh**. I’m really excited to do the competition on the 12th, but I need to get back up to more than a teeny tiny bit of weight. Hopefully you will see more of me this week than last week. I miss you. Speaking of missing you, holy COW there are so many new faces up in the DeCO! Welcome, new friends! If we haven’t met, we will soon.

Friends, old and new, your Social Committee let you down last week, so let us make up for it. Happy Hour is tomorrow (July 3rd) at Historian’s Ale House which is at 24 Broadway at 5:30. Come eat, drink, and celebrate America! Also, I would like to put a bug in your ear about a DeCO afternoon at the ballpark. Sunday July 27th at 2:10 is on my radar because the free giveaway that day looks awesome, but also because it is after Open Gym as well as Outlaw rest day. Think about it. I think it would be super fun. Who cares who the Rockies are playing? Nobody watches baseball at Coors Field anyway.

Tonight, July 2nd, is Team DeCO’s first softball game and we could use YOU as a sub tonight! We had to switch some things around with our league, which caused our first game to move to this convenient holiday week when some of our team members are out of town. So, if you are interested in subbing for us tonight and have a glove, meet us at Citizen’s Park in Edgewater (24th and Benton) at 7:30. If you don’t want to sub, but want to watch some of your favorite people do work together, come to the same location as listed above at 8:00 for our first pitch! Following the game, some of us will be venturing to Sloan’s Bar and Grill just a few blocks over for some Geeks Who Drink trivia. Everyone is welcome to join us there as well!

So friends, moral of this blog is that I will see you soon. In DeCO, on the softball field, or in a bar. Thanks for sticking with me. Remember to do something great today. I will if you will!
